“You'll lose your way,
A boy child rides upon your back.
Take him away,
Through mirrors dark and blessed with cracks..”

Scott Walker was one of the most precious creative figures in my life. He showed us what beauty, melody, darkness and storytelling could be. I will love you always Scott, RIP 💔

Hooray Mirrah Foulkes for the amazing reviews of her debut feature Judy & Punch making its premiere at Sundance Film Festival:

“it’s a testament to Foulkes’ confidence as a director and to the world she has created that this outlandish story sits as comfortably as it does in film....it is this one off status that should make this a festival success..and cult item theatrically.”

Congratulations and huge thanks to composer Francois Tetaz for having me perform and compose for his stunning film soundtrack. Go see this movie, MWA

Mingus by Joni Mitchell had a huge impact on me as a singer and young defecting jazzbo in my teens. It was free, volatile, complex and so, so beautiful. The record was the final collaboration for Charles Mingus just before he passed in 1979, with Jaco Pastorius and Joni floating in mellifluous beauty.

I am performing a piece from this album tomorrow night in New York city to mark Joni’s 75th Birthday, amongst an amazing line-up of artists. 8:30PM at Public Arts on Christie St.

Bring in the mid-term results soaked in some Joni ❤️🍂🏛⚖️ xo http://jonimitchell.com/news/newsitem.cfm?id=1246
