So happy to announce the next iteration of my SET PIECES series, examining visionary poets and the setting of words to music, just announced at the @melbwritersfest on May 8. Following last years @lincolncenter focus on Argentinian poet Alejandra Pizarnik in New York, I am honoured to create `LIFE LINES` a new song cycle drawn from the late, last works of legendary Australian poet Dorothy Porter, performed with my friend, the great pianist and composer @official_paulgrabowsky. Each time I do Set Pieces, I immerse myself in the work of a modern poet, to write and create a libretto for a bespoke cycle of music and text. In this process I am blessed by the collaborative gifts of Jessie Kindig @voleprochaine @yalebooks, who will also be coming to town from NYC for @melbwritersfest, and the stewardship of Dorothy`s muse and partner, the esteemed author #andreagoldsmith. so very happy to announce `Songs for the Dark` a new theatre work I`m creating this winter for The Dark, a new festival unfolding across upstate New York presented by @ps21chatham & Vallejo Gantner @hyperjetlag between 16-22 February. `Songs for the Dark` is a performance examining our collective humanity - part-theatre, concert nocturne and public testimonial. It asks that we witness one another radically, at a time when rights and dignities are being stripped away daily from those around us. I make this show with the great Latvian mind @gundegalaivina and an ensemble of courageous performers from the Hudson/ Columbia County regions - each of them collaborators bringing vastly different experiences, cultural rituals, melodies and murmurations. It is monumental work, created by @faye_driscoll, and featuring 10 of the most fearless dancer-performers on the map. Music and Sound Direction by me. The entire season is sold out, but try and see it somehow if you can. @festivaldautomne winds up a huge 2025 season for a profound show I have had the great joy of being a part of. I can`t entirely grasp the joy I feel - a gentle sense of coming into being. Thank you to all of you who came to that show and showed Fiora so much love, attention and care. It is a night I will cherish as a beginning, a return and a reclamation.

Waking from a week of such deep joy and dreaming as we wrap `In Dreams: David Lynch Revisited` for now.
In many ways this show changed my life 11 years ago. It gave me the confidence to realise that I could step away from a path of female not-quite-pop recording artist™️, and into a space of theatre, performance and curiosity that has nourished me for the past decade.
My dear friend and mentor @davidcoulter taught me that I could perform in opera houses and concert halls as an artist wishing to experiment and discover, which set my course to connect to creativity as a process, not just an outcome.
Returning to this show at this point feels very meaningful - like coming full circle - as next week I will be announcing the return to the project of solo singer in a new album, persona and live performance. A next phase, or a continuation of what was always there...

I have been reflecting on the sadness I have been feeling the last 24hrs. I didn`t know Bob well, but in many ways he and his work shaped the last decade of my life - I came back to the US to do a residency at the @watermillcenter with @davidcoulter & @leoabrahams, and connected with a family of artists and musicians in New York that I didn`t know I had. The time at Watermill introduced me to a path from music into performance and theatre, and changed my perspective entirely of what was possible in my creative life. Everyone has a story like this - how @bob___wilson and his work changed them. I have been reflecting on the sadness I have been feeling the last 24hrs. I didn`t know Bob well, but in many ways he and his work shaped the last decade of my life - I came back to the US to do a residency at the @watermillcenter with @davidcoulter & @leoabrahams, and connected with a family of artists and musicians in New York that I didn`t know I had. The time at Watermill introduced me to a path from music into performance and theatre, and changed my perspective entirely of what was possible in my creative life. Everyone has a story like this - how @bob___wilson and his work changed them.
